The 1st Nishan Forum on World Civilizations

The 1st Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, held in Nishan, Qufu from September 26th to 27th, 2010, themed on "harmony in diversity and a harmonious world", held a high-level dialogue between Confucianism and Christianism. Sha Zukang, the then Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Irina Bokova, the then Director-General of UNESCO, and Jacques Chirac, former President of France sent congratulatory letters. More than 70 Chinese and foreign guests, experts and scholars, including Megawati Soekarno Putri, former President of Indonesia, Péter Medgyessy, former Prime Minister of Hungary, and Lan Qin, UNESCO official attended the event. The forum held 18 high-end dialogues and academic seminars, and adopted the "Manifesto of Human Harmony."
