An ideological dialogue focusing on Chinese and Greek classical civilizations was held in Qufu on the afternoon of September 27, witnessing the interaction, exchange, and mutual learning between Chinese and Greek ideologies.

This Nishan Dialogue on Chinese and Greek Classical Civilizations was both an important session under the framework of The Eighth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations and a critical part of the 50thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Greece and China and the “Greece-China YearofCulture and Tourism”activities.

A significant research finding from Shandong on Chinese and Greek classical civilizations was published at the conference: Comparative Studies on Jixia Academy and Plato’s Academy. It was announced that a scholarship for research on Chinese and Greek classical civilizations would be established to provide fund for university students from Greece and other countries to study in Shandong. The opening ceremony for the Research Institute on Chinese and Greek Classical Civilizations, as initiated by Shandong Normal University, was also held.

The theme of the event was “origin-tracing and prospect: the origin and future of civilization.”More than 30 noted experts and scholars from China, Greece, Egypt, India, Iran, and Peru had dialogues, shared their latest research findings, and reached the Consensus on the 2022 Nishan Dialogue on Chinese and Greek Classical Civilizations.
