Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies Holds Seminar on Cultivation of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture Students
Date:2022-09-05On the afternoon of August 16th, the Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies held a seminar on the cultivation of Excellent Traditional Chinese CultureStudentsin Zoucheng City, Shandong Province. Sun Yao, Member of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, andSun Jiye,Vice Governor of Shandong Province,attended and addressed the seminar.Jin Nuo, Chairman of the Council of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and Dean of Joint Graduate School, presided over the event. Liu Changya, Director of the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education and Vice Chairman of the Council of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, Guo Chengyan, Guo Chengyan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director, and Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Council of the Center made remarks. Zang Fengyu, Secretary General of the Graduate School and Dean of the School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China, presented a work report.
Sun Yao pointed out that the Opening Ceremony of Class 2022 Specialized Graduate Students in Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture at the Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies was successfully held. Going forward, coordinated efforts must bemade toexpand the enrollment quota of graduate students in each co-buildinguniversity, develop more majors, and build a leadingteamof mentors. It is of vital importance to forge ahead together, specifically, to refine the charterof the Joint Graduate School, set up an academic committee, coordinate the facultyresources of the 16 co-buildinguniversities, and create a range ofhigh-quality courses. It is paramountto leveragethe resources of colleges and universities, coordinate the application of academic projects, carry out project operation, bear in mind the country’s most fundamental interests, and build a high-level academic talent pool. It is essential to cultivate a cadreof specializedtalents of traditional culture, through developing the platformof Joint Graduate Schoolanda cross-university alliance, creating a new specialized graduate training mechanism, drafting feasible plans and sharing resources among co-building universities. The Ministry of Education will give full support to the training of the graduate students of traditional Chinese culture, and cooperate with the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Provincial Government to cultivate high-caliberfuture-orientedacademic talents.
Leaders of the 16 co-buildinguniversities held in-depth discussions onthe high-quality development of theJoint Graduate School and the cultivation ofhigh-caliberspecializedtalents. It was unanimously agreed that the training of specialized graduate students of excellenttraditional Chinese culture in the joint Graduate School was an innovative practice to implement the “innovation and entrepreneurship for all”strategy in the cultural sector.Efforts must be devoted tostandardizingthe disciplines, improvingthe training quality, enhancingthe sense of responsibility of the graduate students, and cultivatinghigh-calibertalents with unity of knowledge and action. It is suggested to set up an academic steering committee, clarify the enrollment rules, refine the management mechanism, and establish a multidisciplinary training mechanism. It is vitalto ramp up the publicity campaigns, unify the brand identity of the Joint Graduate School, expand the social influence of the Joint Graduate School, and jointly cultivate talents dedicated to cultural “innovation and entrepreneurship for all”in the new era.
