Eighth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo kicks off in Jinan

On October 17th, the Eighth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo opened in Jinan, Shandong. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Jinan Municipality.

Thisyear’sExpo featured 211 representative intangible cultural heritage projects and over 100 representatives of intangible cultural heritage inheritors to fully showcase the achievements in the protection of intangible cultural heritage in China over the past 20 years since the approval of the“ConventionfortheSafeguardingofthe Intangible Cultural Heritage”.

The Expo introduced activitiesincludingresearch studies and“Intangible Cultural Heritage Small Stage”performances to further enrich the audience's exhibition experience.Events like“Integration ofIntangible Cultural Heritage with Modern Life”exchange activity and intangible cultural heritage brandrelease werelaunchedto promote exchanges and cooperation among inheritors, enterprises, and industry associations. Nearly a hundred professional buyers are organized to attend the conference to facilitate supply and demand docking and contribute to high-quality economic and social development.

Through innovative exhibition design, rich content supply, and professional presentation methods, this Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo fully demonstrates the achievements in the protection of intangible cultural heritage and promotes the concept of its protection. The Expo will last until October 21st.
