Chinese calligraphy of Ming Dynasty makes a stunning appearance at Shandong Museum

On July 23, a special exhibition full of cultural charm of the Ming Dynasty, the "Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy Style Influenced by Late Ming Dynasty Culture" made a stunning appearance at the Shandong Museum. The exhibition outlines the overall style of late Ming calligraphy with a broad perspectivebyusing cultural relics to tell the history,andsystematicallydisplaysthe emergence, development, and continuation of late Ming calligraphy,which clearly illustratesthe inherent connections and aesthetic implications between calligraphy styles, marking the first time in national cultural relic exhibitions.

The exhibition is divided into four units: the legacy of the Wu school, the Wanli calligraphy world, the “romantic new style,” and the continuation of calligraphy styles. The works of famous calligraphers will also be displayed, including Xu Wei’s large-scale calligraphy and Shi Kefa’s running script couplets,which arerare and exquisite masterpieces.
