Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies

In order to carry forward the traditional Chinese culture and deepen the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations, on August 25th, 2019, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Party Committee and Government of Shandong Province jointly established the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies. In April 2020, the Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation, Institute of Confucian Studies, Confucius Museum, Institute of Mencius Studies and other institutions were merged into the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (the Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation). Its headquarter in Nishan is the permanent office of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and China Confucius Foundation.
Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies has set up academic committee and expert database, established joint graduate school with 10 domestic famous universities and scientific research institutions, set up several branches at home and abroad, and formed a pattern of “one center, multiple sub centers”. It focuses on building a high-end platform for world Confucianism research, talent accumulation, popularization and international communication, and strives to build a world center for Confucian studies recognized by China in the new era and the world. Besides, it aims to make positive contributions in promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional culture, promoting the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations, and building a community of shared destiny for mankind.
