With the only estuary in the Yellow River basin, Shandong Province bears the mission and responsibility to carry forward the Yellow River culture and tell its stories well.

The Yellow River Culture Forum, sponsored by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Public Relations Association and People's Government of Shandong Province, will be held in Dongying City from April 18 to 19, 2023.

With the theme of “Carrying Forward the Yellow River Culture, Telling Chinese Stories Well”, experts, scholars and guests from all over the country will share views on the value, characteristics, and future development of Yellow River culture.

The main forum, which highlights the academic and humanistic influences, consists of keynote speeches, seminars and classic Confucian book giving, while two sub-forums focus on strengthening the international communication of the Yellow River culture and exploring the positive role of Yellow River culture in solidifying the sense of Chinese nation community.

More than 80 intangible handmade crafts of traditional art, traditional skills, and cultural creations from 9 provinces and regions along the Yellow River will be displayed, for the sake of protecting and carrying forward the Yellow River culture.

In addition, all participants will conduct field research in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve to enjoy the magnificent landscape and the ecological environment of the Yellow River, and discover new changes and achievements of the ecological protection and high-quality development.
