On November 17, the 7th China Campus Theatre Festival, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Theatre Invitational Exhibition and the 2021 Nanshan Theatre Festival kicked off in Nanshan, Shenzhen.

With the theme of "harmony", this year's drama festival is divided into 4 major sections: "The 7th China Campus Theatre Festival", "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Theatre Invitational Exhibition", "Forums and Lectures", and "Outdoor Performances". 38 representative drama performance teams from major universities across the country, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Shenzhen and the mainland participated in the performance. From now until December 2nd, 25 shows will be staged in turn. The wonderful festival that lasts for half a month will be a grand feast for fans.

This theatre festival is a new and innovative attempt with the theme of "harmony". The theater repertoire includes drama, dance drama, Chaozhou drama, mask drama, children's drama and musical drama, etc.

During the festival, there will be a number of outdoor drama interactive activities, and 13 outdoor sections such as Latin Jazz, Chinese style flash show, close-up magic, covering folk art, drama, puppets, etc., which shows the diversity of Chinese domestic dramas Comprehensive theatrical performances will also be performed in public spaces in non-traditional theaters.

In carrying forward traditional Chinese opera, the festival serves as a stage for Cantonese opera, Wu opera and other operas, integrating Chinese traditional operas into modern urban public space to create “Chinese style in the new era”. In various performances such as puppets, shadow puppets, modern hand puppets, robots, and tumbler performances, the audience can get close to the performers, and even complete the performance with the performers, breaking the gap between the audience and the stage performers.

The festival is held both online and offline. There are 16 live broadcasts to narrow the distance between drama and young people. Based on the characteristics of theatres, it creates a new experience brought about by an art form different from other art forms such as film, television dramas and games.
