Quanzhou Nanyin Music is an ancient music sung with the southern dialect, originating from Quanzhou as the Central Plain Culture spread to the south. It is also one of the oldest existing music genres in China. In 2009, Nanyin Music was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Cocacin is directed by An Fengying, a national level-1 director of the China Pingju Opera Theater. She said that now the audience’s aesthetic level has improved, and the rhythm of life is also changing. Traditional culture is facing the problem of innovative development. Cocacin is a masterpiece in the inheritance, innovation and development of Nanyin Music. It has made a lot of explorations in the interpretation and stage presentation of traditional Nanyin Music.
